How 'bout some GOOD news? Re one of the Lost Boys of the Sudan
With special thanks to all the evilDUers ;) who wrote congress, Sec. Powell, the UN, and signed online petitions to get Congress to acknowledge the genocide and get moving to help those under attack in Sudan, I wish to share the good news I got today from Tucson.

John Majok works with my daughter. He spent part of the summer as an intern in AZ Congressman Kolbe's D.C. office. I posted about him a few times. John in an amazing young man. He works every day to help save his people. He works toward the day he can take his education home and help rebuild a country.

Here is his latest news. Please join me in congratulating him and wishing him well in his future endeavors.

"Dear Wonderful ####### Co-workers/Bosses:

I am very pleased to tell you my upcoming graduation from the University of Arizona. The university-wide commencement ceremony is Saturday, May 14, 2005. The individual college convocation is Friday, May 13, 2005. I will be receiving Bachelor of Science in Public Administration (B.S.P.A) with majors in Public Management/Policy AND Health Care.

I would love to have you at my graduation, if all of you can possibly make it. I am sending you this notice to give you awareness, but formal invitations will follow as we get closer to the graduation dates. If will make it, please let me know.

I can’t wait for that day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks
Sincerely,
John Thon Majok"

John, if you are reading the DU with us tonight, know I am SO happy for you and so glad you came into the lives of my sister and my daughter. You have been more of an inspiration than you can know.
Knowing a bit about the journey you have made so far, I understand better the meaning of humanity, courage, strength, and grace.

Best of luck on the next part of your journey. Live long. Touch many. Laugh often.

Congratulations, Mr. Majok.
