OMG! Somone lost on "Millionaire" on the first question!!
It was "the term 'hostile takeover' is used in reference to the takeover of ..." and the woman on the show answered "Undeveloped country" (or something like that).

Poor woman! Out on the very first question! Didn't even earn $100!!

OUCH!

2. Someone else lost on the first question a while back.
The question was, what direction does the needle point on a compass? I think she used up all her lifelines and still answered wrong. Yikes!

3. The really funny thing about that...
... is that it means that it's not just her that didn't know what the answer was. The fact that she called someone else, the most likely person on her list of people to know the answer to the question, AND STILL GOT THE QUESTION WRONG, is funny beyond words to me.

5. Not to mention that the 50/50 eliminated 2 out of 4 answers.
Granted, you might get discombobulated by being on TV, but come on!

18. Avatar question, sleepyhead...
I caught my cat, "Colonel Thompson", on my keyboard recently; and discovered that he had not only turned my iMac on, but had also doubleclicked my iPhoto program _AND_ had created a new folder named SPH....

SPH...SleePyHead...Hmmmm
And now your avatar looks EXACTLY like him....

So, you cats are really some hyperintelligent species ruling this planet by proxy?

It's OK, you can tell me...PLEASE tell me!

ANYTHING to believe that SHRUB isn't really in charge!

21. Funny you should mention that...
I have always suspected my cat Humphrey (who also looks just like my avatar) of complicity in multiple nefarious plots. He would definitely do a better job than Chimpy at running the country. And I sometimes call him "the Admiral" - perhaps the Admiral and the Colonel know something we don't! I can only hope that the feline military coup is planned for sometime soon.

15. The audience must have gotten it wrong too.
One of the lifelines is "ask the audience".

4. As easy as that question is
That's tough for a first question. I haven't watched the show for awhile, but they're usually throw away questions like "What color is the typical stop sign in North America".

6. Yeah,it could be - but it's still a pretty damn easy question
It's not a total throwaway question, no, but it's one that no one should be getting wrong unless they're pretty young and don't remember the hostile takeover fad of the 80s and 90s.

7. Yeah. I'm surprised an adult would miss that.
Even a younger person who's ever read a newspaper or watched the news should get it, really.

16. Oh, bullshit. You're not even close.
Your answer was to accuracy what failing to empty your colostomy bag is to medicine. You dingleberry-licking mealy-mouthed pigeon-toed inebriant. The answer is obviously "The treaty of Utrecht". Stop trying to confuse people with your low-grade narcoleptic river-bottom-feeding hogswallop.
