Poll question: Which film should I watch tonight?
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 08:50 PM by tjdee
I'm increasingly unable to make minor decisions without the opinion of DUers. So... surprisingly there are a number of interesting films from my cable provider...I've narrowed it down to four.
Will probably see all eventually, but what is the best of these?
Particularly interested in hearing from those who saw the last one, I keep hearing it's a "noir thriller"...any good?

1. I'd choose "The Bourne Supremacy"
The first "Bourne" film was quite good, actually.

3. I agree. Was very surprised at Matt Damon's ability to play a hero.
Very impressed, very.

The second one was as good though? I was a bit skeptical because the first is based on a successful book, don't know where they got the second from.

6. Is the gal from "Run Lola Run" in this one too?
Another thing I was surprised by, that they paired her with him. Interesting choice I thought.

Blanking on her name though...

8. Identity was great, but Supremacy didn't do it for me.
Everything is filmed with handheld cameras. Everything. think Blair Witch Project. It makes it hard to follow the story. The obligatory car chase was not as good, IMHO. They used a new camera which gave it some great angles, and there's one crash scene where you can almost feel it. But overall, 3 out of 5 stars.

5. But he has a beard for most of the movie.

:(

Even Entertainment Weekly (I think) went, why hide Clive's gorgeous face for most of the picture? Hello?

So there is that to consider. Of course, it's still Clive...

9. I thought the Bourne Supremacy was a crappy movie.
Edited on Sat Jan-22-05 01:05 AM by Zing Zing Zingbah
The plot sucked. It seemed like something that was thrown together. They knew people would go see it anyhow because the first one was good.

I picked Spiderman 2 out of the ones listed. I haven't seen the last one on the list, so I don't know anything about it.

11. I'm in LOVE with Matt Damon
So, as much as it pains me to say this, I voted for I,Robot.

If you like this kind of film and Will Smith, then you'll probably like this movie. I enjoyed it a lot. Saw it in the theater.

I also saw Bourne Supremacy in the theater. I'll admit that because I'm madly in love with Matt Damon, I didn't notice till afterward, that the movie really wasn't very enjoyable. I agree with the person upthread who complained about it being shot with a hand held. It was very difficult to get any kind of visual perspective and detracted from the film, overall.
Looking at Matt Damon for two hours was probably the only good thing about this movie, IMO.

12. Well, I'm 20 minutes from the end now--because I fell asleep on it!!
Edited on Sat Jan-22-05 11:49 AM by tjdee
My word.

I'm getting old, or it's kind of boring, or a bit of both.
If I were 21 I'd give myself the pissiest look for falling asleep on a film. Had to go back a bit this morning, missed a lot.

So the Bourne Supremacy...eh. I, Robot, is next, as it looks like I'm going to be sitting at the house all day with the kiddo.

Suprised I didn't get more votes for Spiderman 2. I thought that was the biggest movie since...some other big movie, or something.
