Is the new version any good? The one with Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep?

I was going to rent a movie tonight. Help me figure out what's worth renting...

How about the Village? Was that any good?

Feel free to recommend any movie...

1. Heard the Manchurian Candidate was excellent.
The folks in my "what should I watch" thread seem to think the Bourne Supremacy is good too.

If you've not seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind I'd recommend that.

12. I thought the Bourne Supremacy sucked..
and the new Manchurian Candidate was alright, but not as good as I was expecting.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mine was a good movie.

6. I saw the first "Trekkies"
documentary. I thought it was hysterical.

I heard there's a sequel to it.

16. Might have been the same age
but that was one damm spectacular performance by her. Before I saw that film for the first time I had only seen her in "Murder She Wrote" and some old constume classic about Samson. Who knew she had it in her?

9. One recommendation.
Don't waste your time on the new Manchurian Candidate. Stick to the original. The original is a freakin' great movie. One of the best all time. I don't know what they were thinkin' when they remade it? There wasn't too much room for improvement, but they didn't even come within light years. They do this all the time. It's almost enough to make one dislike Hollywood.

That's all.

17. So did I
I think one of the things that have turned people off of his films after the "Sixth Sense" is that they keep expecting another pure horror flick and don't like them when they realize the horror or science fiction is the point of the movie.

14. Rent original and new version.
When you watch the new version, pay attention to he news casts shown on televisions in the background in many scenes. These news casts tell a fascinating story. Both are excellent!
