Poll question: Would you ever date a ditz? |
|
E.g. Chrissy Snow? (consider the personality only)

I need someone I can actually TALK to. Not worth putting up with stupidity just to get laid, or necessary...I have two hands, after all.

I happen to be one.
Been told by many.
I wouldn't blame them either.
On edit: Forgot to add and I apologize for the sexist implication: I used 'Chrissy Snow' because she makes a good reference point. I know there are male ditzes too. Myself being one such example. Which TV show features a male ditz that the bulk of everybody would instantly recall? I can't think of any... but then, my selection of TV is surprisingly limited.

14. some good hearts on this planet require a level of protection |
|
& you can help to shield them, if that's what life asks of you...
but no one is exempt from the human experience... everyone will sooner or later suffer a broken heart... that's life

just the universal law of pain. No one can be completely sheltered from the claws of the world...
There are different types of ditzes also, which I forgot to mention in an earlier post - the (a) not so smart but a heart of gold type & the (b) *ditzy facade* which is used as a manipulative tool. Differentiating between the two is important. I try to identify & avoid the latter.
In other words, a big brain isn't always the bottom line. Sure, a stimulating conversation is great. But at the same time, a person can talk a big game... roll off facts... talk all sorts of shit... yet carry malice in his or her heart. Rich in facts, yet poor in soul.
I know people who would easily qualify as "ditzes" & be laughed out of the upper echelons of the "intelligent" community... yet they have been some of the most soul-rich people I have known.

11. This is not about sex. It's about personality. |
|
What's the point of sex if you can't get along?
(but now I know why I'm a reject. :7 )

...no, since I consider "ditzy" to be an undesirable personality trait. I tend to be attracted to competent, intelligent women.

13. Would you leave ditzy people alone or do you have more humane ways of |
|
dealing with them?
Loneliness (and I don't mean sexual) is the second worst crime one human can bestow upon another. The first? That one should be obvious.

...I simply wouldn't chronically date them with the goal of establishing a serious romantic relationship.

On edit: I have a ditzy ladyfriend who is an incredible sweetie, but I could never date her or be in a serious relationship with her - she'd drive me crazy within a week...

20. Well some people can accomodate their ditziness... |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-22-05 01:29 AM by Sufi Marmot
...some probably actually find it endearing. I'm not one of them... :-)
On edit: I suppose that ditziness is relative and subjective, so everyone has a different definition....
