Post nice memory from the last year |
|
I'm in a SPAMMING MOOD!
Out of no-where I had the urge to download "I knew the bride" by Nick Lowe.
It reminds me of my sister's wedding about a year ago. At the reception they played that when the bride dances with all the guys at the wedding.
I grew up in a tight area of town...so all the guys she was dancing with I had known since I was a kid...now they were all dancing with her at her wedding.
My sister looked great and was dancing so funny.... in a way that reminded me of her when she was about six. Everyone saw her as the bride...but all I saw was my sister when she was a kid.
I'm even getting teary eyed writing this.
Great memory.

Volunteering for the month prior to the election at Kerry/Edwards Ohio headquarters in Columbus.
Eighteen hour days.
Sleeping at the Firehouse.
Meeting great people.
And thinking we'd win.

All in all I had a pretty shitty year.
Replaced at my job, lost one of our houses to bankruptcy, spent the whole month of June in the Hospital, in a drug induced fog where reality and delusion blended far better than anything that I ingested back in the seventies......
So, when I heard the words, Mr. Green, you aren't going to need a lung transplant for a long time.....
That, my freinds, was a great day....
Vindication, the person they hired to take my place after I became ill, ended up mucking up things so bad, they called me back to work.....
But perhaps the best thing that happened was when I told my doctor that I was having trouble sleeping for more than a few hours, and that I was having trouble staying awake through the whole day. He looked at me and said, "I need you to sleep when ever you can." I thought I had died and gone to heaven, I have to take a nap, Doctors orders......

5. Presidential Debates - ALL THREE! |

And watching all three with fellow-Kerry supporters! What warmth! What promise! (Sigh.)

After my car blew its head gasket, I was given a much newer car to replace it.
