Describe your bed.
Hey! Get your head out of the gutter! I'm one of those people that has to have a verrry comfortable bed!

Mine's a full size bed with a purple satin comforter and hot pink and purple sheets. I have 3 regular size pillows, one purple squishy pillow, and a hot pink and purple heart shaped one.

Basically, I just want to make sure I'm not a freak for having so many pillows. :D Spill!

8. Soft-side waterbed? What is that?
I used to have a waterbed, but never heard of a soft-side one.

Your bed sounds wonderful, and wonderfully placed! I could see sitting there having a morning coffee and just watching the snowfall out the window.

Sigh...I hope to have a house someday that I can do a similar thing.

30. It's a waterbed mattress that looks & acts like a regular mattress,
if that makes any sense. It's got a foam surround that keeps the shape of the mattress. You can get a "dual" system that gives each person their own single-sized mattress with individual heaters, all enclosed in a zippered cover that looks and feels just like a king-size bed, only better. You can even get them with memory foam toppers, but we just have plain dual mattresses.

No hard rail to bruise your legs on when you get in and out of bed. And it takes regular fitted sheets, which is a huge plus.

had advanced so far that they could keep the shape with foam.

33. Oh, go on... you know you want one.
Do a quick Google.

Oh, forgot to mention that some are sold as divan beds (with a base like a box spring for a regular mattress) and some are just the mattress itself. We have just the mattress.

This site shows some of the different styles: http://www.abcwaterbed.com/mattress.htm

6. I sleep on a futon on the floor
(and in case anyone is confused by that statement, remember, a futon is a mattress; the folding thing the futon goes into is a frame - I have no folding thing).

I prefer the floor - I have often times even just slept directly on the floor.

Soft mattresses make me feel yucky.

Though I do miss my waterbed something awful. I had a twin sized waterbed for a couple years once, and I LOVED it!

56. I like the hardness of the floor and the support thereof
Soft mattresses, except when I had the waterbed, don't give me a fitful rest at all. I wake up with my body all out of kink.

The height doesn't bother me at all - I'd be happy to have a platform. But I also kinda like sleeping low to the ground - makes the room seem bigger, and I try to live as much on the floor as I can anyway.

19. lol! This is honestly the best bed I've ever slept on, and I have had
very expensive mattresses. It isn't a pull-out sofa, but it was made by Simmons who is primarily a bedmaking company. Perhaps when they created it, they realized a lot of people fall asleep on their sofas, and made a perfect one for that! There is another leather sofa in the media room downstairs and it isn't anywhere as comfy.

14. I have to have a comfortable bed, too...used to work 12-15 hr
days on my feet and won't go without one anymore.

Queen size, 5 pillows (4 for me and one for my husband). Queen size used to be big,but not anymore, now that my 6'7" husband is in it with me. I'm 5'10" so I can't take a regular full bed...they are too darned short! I hated it when my feet hung off the end. Poor hubby's feet always hang off, but he says he likes it that way. I guess after 40 years of that, he knows nothing else.

Because of the below zero wind chills, I have 3 quilts, a blanket and a sheet piled on me for the last several nights.

28. It once belonged to my great-grandparents
They purchased a bedroom set in 1890 when they married and it is now mine. The bed is hand-carved walnut with a gigantic, ornate headboard. One problem though: people back then (late 19th century) were not as tall as we are today, therefore I must sleep at an angle because I'm six feet tall and the bed is too short for me (no real problem). I found out that my grandfather, who was also six feet tall, had the bed lengthened, but it is still rather short for me. But, what the heck, I love it. BTW, I have their entire bedroom set and entering my bedroom is like stepping back in time (kinda).

41. I have 2 beds
My current (Pittsburgh) bed is a lush Coleman air mattress with navy t-shirt sheets (this week), a microfiber faux suede red coverlet and baby blue plush blanket, along with a round red faux suede pillow and one of those Moshi pillows for my neck. As air mattresses go, this is a great one - it's very comfortable. I have this arrangement because I'm in a 1-BR apartment while finishing law school.

The other bed (Dallas), the one my husband gets to sleep in, is a dark cherry wood 4-poster with excellent mattresses (my husband is short and practically has to pole vault to get on the bed), white flannel sheets, a thick down comforter and 4 down pillows. I'm told my husband has purchased a blue quilt to cover the down comforter and protect it from dirt, as well as some pillow shams. I've not seen these yet. This bed is SO comfortable, and I'm looking forward to trading in the air mattress for it!

Oh hell, a picture is worth a thousand words, right?

I change the sheets and 'backdrop' (which are curtain sheers) occassionally. Now I have leopard print and black backdrop, black satin sheets, and leopart print comforter on it.

ON EDIT: Yes, those are black, real leather, curtains. They block out the light great (which is good, since that window faces east).

SECOND EDIT: I also sleep on this occassionally, if my dog has not hogged it already. I just bought this futon and it is SOOOO comfortable. Both arms recline to several angles, and flat also. I got it from target.com for $188. Not bad.

since we just got a new queen-sized foam- core futon yesterday, after having the same old-style futon for many years. It was very hard and we felt we deserved a softer bed. It is very comfy. For many years, our original futon was on the floor, til my husband built a nice frame when I was pregnant and could no longer get up. Don't think I could sleep on a regular mattress at this stage of the game- have been a futon person for too many years. :)

49. I'm very proud of mine.
I designed it, and had it custom-made to give to my ex as a wedding present, but I fought tooth and nail to keep it after the separation, and I did.

It's a modern design combining a blued steel frame and canopy with legs and a head and foot board of maple. It's king size, and is currently made with soft white linen sheets and a neutral duvet cover with a very faint Japanese character motif. It has four pillows, and tsw embroidered cushions my mom gave me, one when I was 10, and one this Christmas.

It's a very tranquil and comfortable space.

64. Cal King, no headboard, elevated.
It's 3.5 feet tall, from the floor.

Currently, it wears white 400 TC Pima cotton sheets, a red and black comforter I made (comforters for Cal Kings being nearly impossible to find) a cotton candlewick blanket, and a white jaquard spread that doubles as a blanket in the summer. There's also a temp blanket on my side.

Mr. Pcat wanted a bed long enough for him, which meant a Cal King.

It's hard to change the sheets, and I'm still not sure if I like the idea of a "flipless" mattress.
