I just figured out the name "The Rolling Stones"
Rock and Roll, Rolling Stones, get it?

1. They were named after the Muddy Waters song "I'm a Rolling Stone."
Which was taken from the old adage "a rolling stone gathers no moss." Muddy was saying that he's a wanderer. Mick and Keith liked Muddy. Hence....

7. A lot of people seem to be unaware of the blues influence on

the Stones and British rock in general. A lot of American things get discovered by the Brits and reintroduced to us.

12. Some of the guys I played with in Fort Worth remembered young Brits
hanging out at The Cellar and other clubs in the early '60s, listening to the blues, R&B and Texas shuffles. These youngs Brits were probably Mayall, Clapton, .... who knows?
