I Don't Care What The Critics Say - Van Helsing Was An Awesome, Fun Movie |
|
Stupid critics. Just because the dialog was laughable and the acting and accents were dumb doesn't mean the film wasn't a great 2 hours of fun and entertainment.
And Faramir was in it too! And he was GREAT!
Freakin' Dracula and his three wifes. The wolfman with his skin ripping off. Frankenstein with his lightning bolt head. A freakin' machine gun crossbow. Baby vampires encased in cocoons.
This movie had it all!
Rent this today if you're stuck in the snow storm, or if there's nothing else to rent. Its worth a viewing.

All I remember is Kate Beckinsale's silly shoes and the atrocious accents.
Should I give it another shot, seriously? We got 45 minutes into it and took it back to Lackluster the next day.

It wasn't a great film, and I wouldn't give it any awards, but it was a fun ride, and it wasn't insultingly bad, like Top Gun or any host of other movies.
I don't Van Helsing tried to pawn itself off as a serious artistic film (the way that, say, John Carpenter does movies, or maybe Spider Man or some of the other really good ones from this genre) - I think it was made just for the fun of the story.

My husband will watch ANYTHING if it is some semblance of a horror movie. I really don't see why the critics hated it so much; I'm sure I've seen much worse.

It's worth renting IMHO. "Vlad", on the other hand, is not.

6. Haven't seen it yet, but now I just might watch it tonight. |
|
I hesitated on seeing it because of the bad press it had gotten.
I think it's still on Dish PPV. I love a good cheesy vampire flick. :)
