Psst!.....! DUers!!! ..... Over here! Want some KOOLAID??????
It's Mr. Rove's special blend.

Face it DUers ... being intelligent, rational, informed people is just getting you DOWN.

So here, just drink some KOOLAID! Know the narcotic bliss of pure ignorance!

One sip, and you'll no longer fret and lose sleep over the disastrous policies and incompetence of the administration. Instead, you will be able to enjoy the wonder of the glorious Reich, without facts and reality mucking it up!

Drink the koolaid, DUers! And you too can be a happy, ignorant bush-lover!

Go ahead, just drink it!

You VILL drink de koolaid, I say! Sieg heil!

2. I just Googled it because I'm a Brit
and wondered if it was a metaphor or a real product. Seems it's a real product. If I saw it over here I wouldn't have bought it though - I know Kraft are owned by the Altria Group.

Now I know what the stuff actually is! I've been too lazy to look it up until now.

4. And it isn't just a drink - it's the drink that Jim Jones poisoned
and made all his followers drink down in Guyana.

That's why you might see the prhase "Just drink the Kool-Aid" used so much around here - it's taken on the meaning of "Just accept whatever the authority tells you to believe/do/say/etc."

The current Shrubbie McWarCriminal administration, along with FOX, has served a SHITLOAD of Kool-Aid in the last four years. And, sadly, an awful lot of ignorant morans have willingly drunk it.

Koolaid and cyanide, I believe. Now people are saying the wacko righties have "drank the koolaid."

6. I'll explain it in context
in the 70s, I believe, a 'preacher' named Jim Jones created a cult following in CA. Relatives of the cultists got worried, and started investigations. Jones merely bought land in South America and moved his cult there. When a Congressman went to investigate charges of child abuse and stealing people's money, he was murdered on the tarmac. Then Jones told ALL his followers to drink some big tubs of Kool Aid that had been prepared with POISON. Nearly every one of the people drank the Kool Aid and died. They even fed the stuff to their kids and babies. Jones died too, but I think it was from a gunshot wound (can't remember if it was self-inflicted or not).

Anyway, that's where the term "drink the Kool Aid" came from.

8. people - thanks for the contextual info'
when I first joined DU I didn't know WTF a Freeper was and I asked that too. Had a look at their site and realised these nutters overlap with the "blood and honour" bamsticks in the extreme Brit r/w parties.

thnx

14. This is their coolaid.
Dom. Romanésque Condi Repuge 2005 - app. $1,540
This Non-French red Burgundy smells of cowboy sweat, spices and leather. Dark in color, it hints at flavors of soy sauce, blood and tears. The aroma is ultra-rich and penetrating without being too attractive. The Romanée Condi Repuge is a rare wine that has carved a niche for itself along the years. At over fifteen hundred dollars a bottle, it no longer has anything to prove. Consistently, the Romanée Condi fetches prices around the thousand dollar mark no matter the vintage.
