Things to do when your power goes out |
|
1. Light candles and stare at the flame -- Calgon isn't the only thing that can "take you away".
2. Collect an arsenal of knives and long handled utensils just in case Jason tries to sneak up on you.
3. Taunt your cats with the beam from the flashlight.
4. Try to get some sleep, and pray that you will awaken without the aid of the alarm clock.
Any more?

3. bring in wood for the stove, |
|
Light candles for ambiance.
Kiss my husband and thank him for
firing up the generator, hooking in the inverters, and getting us back online!
Soon it will be-I have solar panels up, WHAT power outage?
Don't mean to be smug-where I live, we have had power outages for weeks at a time, and these things have become a necessity.

6. It went out Thursday night/morning around 2 a.m. |
|
and was back on when I got home from work yesterday.
However, my cable box was fried, as well as my computer modem.
The repairman just left about an hour ago.

entire house covered, and he can get back to masturbating.

14. You got weather-related power outages in Atlanta??? |
|
I haven't heard anything, don't watch Atlanta news since we got a dish -- New York stations are not so driven by the "if it bleeds, it leads" credo, plus it's always fun to see former Atlanta anchors turning up in other markets!
I do know we're supposed to get snow tonight or tomorrow in North Georgia and hope it happens!

I thought I was the only one who didn't bother with the "local" news.
It's cold, foggy and rainy today -- the power outage occurred Thurs. night.

I refuse to watch that crap. I probably couldn't name any of them if my life depended on it.
Glad to hear your power is back on. It's supposed to get pretty chilly tonight. No 14 inches of snow or anything, but you know how us southern gals are - we DO NOT handle cold well. :)

17. Atlanta "news" is pathetic |
|
You are not alone in ignoring that nightly drivel. It amounts to 20 minutes of robberies, rapes, and murder with the occasional apartment fire or collapsed deck. Just perfect viewing right before going to bed....
We were getting ready to call it a night a few months ago when that guy got decapitated by the guide-wire. The "teaser" came on promising an exclusive story about a bizarre decapitation.
As my wife was turning of the TV, she commented, "Ooh, as opposed to a run-of-the-mill, everyday-type decapitation."

21. Listen, I once saw them reporting on a murder, a man had been |
|
stabbed to death, and reporters were swarming around the place (a club or poolhall, as I recall) when the widow arrived with a friend or relative. She didn't know what had happened until she arrived and after learning her husband was dead, she became hysterical, screaming and crying, and the bastards just kept rolling film! It was the absolute worst behavior I've ever seen from media whores. No respect was shown for the poor woman's terrible raw shock and grief.
It's interesting that the stations we've been able to get from NYC, DC, LA, etc., don't engage in that. I know they HAVE murders in those cities, and they report some on the air, but they don't delight in them.

Try to toss popcorn into SO's mouth by candlelight.
Remove cat from SO's face where it became attached when trying to chase flying popcorn.
Stitch SO's face by candlelight.
