not just on the level of bad writing & acting, but in its deeply cynical outlook on the will to survive.
There is also something inherently sick about a writer/director cashing in on the misfortune of two individuals... and somehow labeling that story as "true."
And the funny thing is, on the commentary, he barely mentions the real-life people on which he based the film. He imposes his cynicism on two people who have no voice.
I guess the families of these people would be the most pissed.
But I have to hand it to the marketing team... they conned a lot of people into watching the flick. I'm sure the director is eating good with the profits. :grr:
That's why I don't like "Open Water." :)
