1. Except if you're listening to Pearl Jam or Nirvana.
Eddie Vedder and Kurt Cobain were masters at singing jumbled-up lyrics. I mean, "Yellow Ledbetter" by Pearl Jam is just "Aahm-uh saay, enno meee-ooo weaddderr, ih goes an ih goes, ah don' wanna saaayyyy..."

4. Depends on which Kurt showed up for the recording session.

Was it Methadone Kurt, or Clean Kurt???

Depends on the album. Incesticide featured Methadone Kurt. Nevermind featured Clean Kurt.

3. Once I actually got down the lyric's to "Gallows Pole"
(after their appearance on "Unplugged"), it kinda took away some of the real fun of the jam.

Not that it was a great tune done on Unplugged. It still is. But it somehow diminished the pure excitement from the song . . .
