I wish I was still in New Orleans.
-4 outside with a -22 wind chill. Blowing snow everywhere.

Now I feel like crying.

1. if it ain't that old Chuck E. Weiss
http://www.oldielyrics.com/lyrics/tom_waits/i_wish_i_was_in_new_orleans_in_the_ninth_ward.html

Well, I wish I was in New Orleans, I can see it in my dreams,
Arm-in-arm down Burgundy, a bottle and my friends and me

Hoist up a few tall cool ones, play some pool and listen
To that tenor saxophone calling me home
And I can hear the band begin "When the Saints Go Marching In",
And by the whiskers on my chin, New Orleans, I'll be there

I'll drink you under the table, be red-nosed, go for walks,
The old haunts what I wants is red beans and rice
And wear the dress I like so well, and meet me at the old saloon,
Make sure that there's a Dixie moon, New Orleans, I'll be there

And deal the cards roll the dice, if it ain't that old Chuck E. Weiss,
And Claiborne Avenue, me and you Sam Jones and all

And I wish I was in New Orleans, 'cause I can see it in my dreams,
Arm-in-arm down Burgundy, a bottle and my friends and me
New Orleans, I'll be there

2. Hey its only going to be in the 40's tomorrow
Edited on Sat Jan-22-05 04:40 PM by BOSSHOG
in New Orleans and highs next week only in the 60's. I'll probably have to wear a jacket or something to the Barkus Parade next Sunday. Good thing there's lots of bars and inhibitionless female tourists along the parade route to keep a guy from getting lonely. It can get rough down here too ya know.

4. I never lived there.
I was on vacation there for New Years. Stayed there for about a week. It's a week I wish I still had.

6. We get flooding here.
We might get a minor flood this March/April with all the snow we've gotten.

9. I am going there tomorrow
At least, I am supposed to. It's snowing in DC so who knows if I'll get out.
