I survived the invasion of the squealing five-year-old girls for my daughter's birthday party this afternoon.
Happy girls have left with their goodie bags, mess is cleaned up, and I'm breathing a sigh of relief.

How many did you have? And did your daughter have fun? (Happy Birthday to her!)

3. We had seven little girls, including my daughter, plus my |
|
three-year-old son, who had to get in on the festivities. I did have fun. One of my friends was here too with her two girls and she stayed for the whole party, as did my husband and my teenage daughter and a friend of hers.
It was easier than I thought it would be, everyone got along, and nobody got bored or cried. And for that, thank goodness! :)
Jane's birthday was actually Dec 28, but lots of her friends were away for Christmas vacation, so that's why we did the party later.

4. Mine is Dec. 27 - we used to celebrate it before Christmas |
|
Good for you for having a party for her at a time when her friends could all make it. :hi:

2. I bet you had the best time of any of them...squealing five year olds |
|
can't get happier than that...the only way it would have been better is if it happened on the 20th of January as a distraction! Congrats for your survival and I know you had fun! :D

5. Oh, hey! That would have been a good idea. |
|
I needed some distraction that gloomy day.
Yes, the squealing was indicative of a good time had by all, so I'm grateful. I'm also grateful birthdays are a once-a-year deal. ;)

7. She did. She's been so excited she was bouncing off the walls! |
|
She told EVERYONE at the grocery store this morning that she was having a party. She wanted the world to come and eat cake and ice cream with her!

9. Little kid birthday parties |
|
are so much fun!
My favorite was when my oldest (who's now 22) turned 6. I had six or seven of his friends over, plus his younger brother who was two. We played some games like pin the tail on the donkey. I had them do a treasure hunt, with very easy clues, a pinata, then cake and ice-cream.
I also used to do birthday parties at the local skating rink for the younger one, which was also fun.
