I've just discovered I like vegetables better than sweets |

If my eight year-old self could see me now, he'd commit suicide to deny them their eventual victory.

Wish my tastes would undergo that healthy a transformation! But I haven't had a heart attack yet, so I'm not motivated. :eyes:

A good dish to make if you only have twenty minutes or so is penne with roasted broccoli in a balsamic butter sauce. Damn that is good.

About 10 years ago, I stumbled onto a recipe for something called called a "Broccoli Bake." I made it for several vegetarian friends, all of whom thought it was terrific.
You know, I haven't made one of those bakes in years. Methinks I'm overdue! :9

At all you can eat places and potlucks, I have always eaten more salad and side dish vegtables than sweets. I can't say this is completely healthy because I usually put salad dressing on my salad, dip with raw veggies, and prefer cooked veggies with butter, cheese, or other fattening compliment. I only eat sweets in small doses even when I am hungry.

13. I gave up sweets 10 years ago |
|
I have hypoglycemia and sweets make me feel ill. I used to have a huge sweet tooth but I really don't miss them. Unfortunately, I haven't lost my cravings for starches, give me chips, pasta, rice, potatoes and I can't resist.

14. I prefer veggies over sweets |
|
I very seldom buy sweets except when my daughter visits, when she leaves for her home I bag the sweet foods up and send them home with her. It is not unusual for me to open up a can of corn or peas at night and eat that, or I'll fix myself some edamame at night.
I admit the other night though I went to Osco, while there I bought a bag each of raspberry and licorice twizzlers. That is the extent of the sweet foods for me.

Sweets are good once in a while, and that's it.
Veggies rock every day!

17. When my kids were young |
|
my sil used to bring a huge platter of cut up veg's, with a bowl of ranch in the middle, to Christmas. The 5 grandkids would descend on it like a horde of locusts. We(the adults) would try to wade in and grab a few vegs, but those creeps were crafty. They started double dipping the ranch. We learned to leave the platter alone.
