I just downloaded Firefox...need a little help |
|
I can't play games at a site that I always play at, and it's driving me nuts. It tells me that a plug in is missing, Sun Java. I tell it to download, it acts like it does, then Windows Installer pops up and says the file does not exist. WTF????
Other than that, I'm loving it. The pages are loading much faster!

6. Sometimes you have to uninstall and reinstall |
|
Some versions won't do plugins if the download came in a zipped file.
Save the program to your desktop and install that way. You should always download the program first, then install it, as opposed to installing directly from online.
Do you have a high speed connection? because if you do, the following tweak will make your pages load faster still!
"Open Firefox. Type "about:config" in the address bar (no quotation marks). Find these options, double click each one and change to below values:
network.http.max-connections: 48 (24)
network.http.max-connections-per-server: 24 (8)
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy: 12 (4)
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server: 6 (2)
network.http.pipelining: true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests: 32 (4)
network.http.proxy.pipelining: true
right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".
Close Firefox and enjoy the faster browsing."
Figures in parentheses are default values. ignore

12. You have to use Sun Java, |
|
not the Java that Microcrap IE uses. Sorry if this is obvious, I remember missing it way back when I switched to Firefox
