Hairy legs
I've been shaving my legs since I was a teenager--never mind how many decades that is. Anyway, this winter I decided to stop shaving for a while just to see what grew.

Holy cow, I'm really hairy!

I had no idea.

1. I did that too, recently...
Who knew you started losing body hair when you got old? I have no hair on my legs at all anymore and have been shaving them out of habit for who knows how long after I really didn't need to.

3. That reminds me of something my grandmother used to say.
..and I, too, have found is true.

"I'm so old, I have to shave my face more often than my legs!"

8. hahahahahahaha! Did anyone's here mother ever warn them that
after a certain age you get those really weird wiry black and white hairs on and under the chin? I tried waxing and literally got burned, so I keep tweezers nearby me at all times! :)

Very dark, too. Surprising because I've got a fair complexion and the hair on my arms is very light colored.

10. That's too funny, I thought I was the ONLY one who tried it...
I still NEED to shave my legs, I too have very light colored hair on my arms, but I think the years of shaving the legs have altered the otherwise soft, short light colored hair that would naturally grow on my legs.

I kept having dreams that I was wearing a skirt in public and forgot that I had not shaved my legs...I kept freaking out in my dreams! I had to shave just to stop having bad dreams about my hairy legs! :P

Since there's just me, I can look anyway I want. :D When the weather warms up and I get back into swim suits and shorts, I'll shave again.

The hair on my legs is rather long now.

21. I Shave In The Winter
If I tried your experiment it would be really scary. I shave every other day in the winter even though I wear jeans. I don't like seeing hairy legs when I undress. It grows really fast too. My mom payed for laser hair removal beneath my navel as a Christmas present. I am going to have to pay for future treatments though.

I have fine blond hair anyway, and it seems to grow pretty slow, so in the winter I can use an electric shaver about once a week and I'm good to go.

I've been married 13 years, so I only shave for skirts, not sex.

He doesn't really care and I don't have that prickly leg hair anyway. It's pretty soft and thin.

27. I grew my out for awhile
before the election. It had been 33 years of shaving, and I decided to grow them out since so many people were making fun of Kerry and his support from the Europeans. I finally shaved them a week before I went to the Caribbean on holiday about 3 weeks ago. It took me 20 minutes to shave my legs and my underarms...yikes!

30. I shave about once a week in the winter
My legs are really hairy by the end of the week, but it doesn't really concern me too much. Shaving it weekly keeps it from getting too long. My husband hasn't complained either except a joking comment when I shaved to wear a skirt "Sure you'll shave for everyone else but not for me." Yes, I shave in the summer for everyone else, following societal norms. I believe in American, the first women to shave their legs were prostititues. Not all societies, past and present, believe that women with leg are disgusting.

32. I think men should shave their leg and chest!
Why is it that women have to shave their legs and underarms and men can go around in public looking like apes? All that hair clogs up the pool filters and bath drains. Some men will even cook while only wearing shorts. No question about where that hair in my food came from. I happen to like men with very little hair on their chests but I have to admit that I find mens underarm fur to be a turnoff. I'm not hairy at all but some of my friends have rather thick dark hair and they have to go through so much to keep it in check that I am glad I don't have to suffer shaving my legs once in the morning before work and once in the evening before getting in bed with their husbands yet he can grow a beard and spread hair all over the bed and society says thats fine. Social norms, I guess.

34. I shave every day
whether I need to or not.

Especially in winter when my skin is dry because of the heater. Shaving ex foliates the skin & allows the lotion to work better.

The main reason I shave is I like the feel of my smooth legs gliding across the sheets when I get in bed.

It doesn't matter if anyone else sees my legs or not, I do it for me.
