2. I'm so sorry!
I buy at salvage grocery stores myself, and I know what it is like to get stale products. Suggestion that seems to work-next time, buy coffee beans and grind them yourself. Seems that even if the beans are considered 'old', once you grind them, they are pretty good.

I buy store brand beans that are a lot cheaper than the fancy labels.

9. you need a cheap electric coffee grinder.....
It's like a little mini blender. I bought one (a Mr. Coffee, I think) about 10 years ago for about $15 or $20 and it's still grinding away, many thousands of pots of coffee later.

14. you can still buy electric coffee grinders
for that amount, and it is a good investment.

4. So sorry
Bad coffee really sucks. I used to get Yuban all the time when I drank a lot of coffee and it was good stuff. I'll know to steer clear of the packet kind. Thanks for the warning, but sorry you had to learn the hard way.

6. Bonafide offer...if you want it. Send me mailing info and I'll send you
some decent coffee from Germany or Austria.

I hate that thought of anyone drinking bad coffee.

Faye,
Sorry to hear about the coffee. Must be like the dreck I had in DC the morning of Jan 6th before going to LaFayette park. That was some nasty stuff.

bettyellen,
Ulcer? Take care of yourself, sweetie.

21. yeah, well it was better the minute i laid off the coffee.
and the whiskey. But smoking is not helping, i know.
just beent a little out of control since novemeber + the holidays were so darn stressful and i was pretty self-indulgent for a good ten weeks.
i'm recovering nicely. i wish i could lay off the smokes as easily. i've got quite the monkey on my back.
everything good in your neck of the woods, cheryl?

but otherwise ok.
Work, jury duty, going to the protest in Seattle - met some DU'ers there, nice, but had more fun with you guys on the 6th.
Need to breathe.
Trying to go through info from threads to come up with recommendations on Election Reform targeted to state level since our legislature is meeting on it now.

25. pm'd Andy and arnheim and keepthemhonest
I'm going through reams of posts trying to cull out applicable points and get them into a concise, bulleted sheet to send.
I am dying to see those, too. She took some great pics. Would love copies.
I wonder if she'll still post them at this point (as days pass) or if we'll need to pm her to ask.

i think i might have bothered selmo in a pm a while ago, i'll have to check.
i think she can load them to photobucket or another service and send us the location.
have not run into selmo in the longest. but as i recall, there was one good shot of us, and you were my first DUer friend, so that's one i really want for posterity.
you wrere coming from so damned far, it really inspired me.

27. thanks, I needed the kick
That post dropped like a rock. Now I have some replies, which will help in creating the sheet I need.
arnheim is the one doing the VOTE group. She pointed me to keepthemhonest. I'm in touch with them both. Just pm'd Andy this morning. He's been so busy in DC and all.
Photobucket? That's new to me, but sounds great. I remember she had two photos of us. I think we both liked the same one and I want that one, too of my first DU buddy - you.
And you drove through ice and traffic hell on no sleep to get there. I admire you for your bravery.
