1. Well, after reading the posts here, I figured it out.
Aside from that, I didn't either.

I really just have no interest in most sports.

The few sports I like aren't televised.

7. I had no clue at all. Once the Packers were out,
I didn't care. And if the Packers had still been in, all I would have known was that the Packers were in. I doubt I would have known who the others teams were.

I mean, really - it's a goddamn sports game. It's a bunch of millionaires out playing a game. Why do people care about that crap so much?

9. no clue why either, Rabrrrrrr
I can understand watching the occasional game but the sheer amount of attention and money involved for these game-players is ludicrous. It's like some people never grow up and live their lives through these teams.

11. Yeah! The amount of self-identification is awful
Judging people by how well "their" sports team does. or judging their own worth by how well "their" sports team does.

I don't get it.

It's fun to watch, because it's watching people who have trained and practiced and dedicated their life to a certain kind of art, and they play it very well - but the amount of attention to sports, as though they really mattered, gets to be sickening.

On the news tonight: 1 minute of world news, 5 minutes of local news, 5 minutes of national new, and 15 minutes of sports.

In the paper today: our weekly two-page section on the arts (tomorrow will be our weekly 1 page section on science), 2 pages of local news, 1 pages of state news, 2 pages of business, 1 page of world news, and, of course, the daily sports section, the largest section of the paper except for the classifieds.
