I don't have a story because I live in L.A. (we were at the beach today, no sweater and the surfers out!)
But man that sounds like a SNOW DAY! Are the cars all covered up and everything?

but 14" won't bury it -- unless you've parked where the plows have effectively dumped more snow on it
fortunately, the snow was a dry/powder type -- easier to shovel than the heavy wet snow. A couple of our neighbors, with plows, did most of our driveway for us. We still had to shovel the walks and out around from the cars.
I heard on the news - the east coast cities/towns got the worse of the storm -- 30" in some places
