"meshugena" is yiddish for "crazy", and "the other one" is self-explanatory, in a "who's on first" kind of vein.
the interesting thing is, when people visit, they somehow know to ask meshugena's name first, so then they say,
"what's the other one's name?" "the other one" "yes, the other one" "right" "what's her name" "the other one" "right, so it's meshugena and the other one" "right" "so what's the other one's name?"
you get the idea.

That was the name of a black Lab which pretty much owned the UNC campus in the early seventies. I always thought that was a great name for a Lab.

My sister named her little boy poodle, Kemo Sabe, the name that Tonto used to call the Lone Ranger, meaning "my friend" (I think)
