Question regarding DVD drives on PC's |
|
I know that there are multiple DVD player formats for different geographical regions, and that a "Zone 1" DVD won't work on players in Europe, just as a "Zone 2" DVD won't work on American players. Does this apply to DVD drives on PC's as well?
I work near Fisherman's Wharf, so a large percentage of my store's customers are tourists from Europe. And we sell a lot of DVD's, and I often have to explain to foreign customers that our DVD's probably won't work on their DVD players. Does the same thing apply to their computers, or are PC DVD drives non-zone-specific?

2. Most (if not all) have zones. |

Some drives allow you to change the region a few times in case you move to a different continent.

I believe it is fairly easy to come by region free players. If they know that they need to be looking for one, it shouldn't be too hard for them to get one.
