What fast food places (if any) do you like to eat at??? |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 02:45 PM by SmileyBoy
Personally, I avoid the burger joints (McDonald's, Burger King), with the lone exception of Wendy's. The other places I will eat at are Arby's, Cousin's Subs, Subway, Quizno's (basically any sub place except for Blimpie), Taco Bell (I know a lot of you hate it, but I'm a poor college student, and the one I frequent got straight-A's from the health department and prepares the food a lot better than any other TB), Taco John's (Good alternative to Taco Bell), Sbarro (kick-ass pizza) and KFC, but not for the chicken, just for the mac and cheese and biscuits (I heard nasty things about the chicken there). Sometimes I also get free pizzas from my work, Papa John's.
I always avoid McDonald's Burger King, White Castle, Domino's, Blimpie and Pizza Hut.
Any fast food places you like eating at??

1. I miss Carl's Jr (Hardees), and Baja Fresh |
|
NYC has way too many McDs and not near enough mexican fare for my tastes. The best mexican food here is produced by Chinese immigrants from Texas. But I wish Baja Fresh would open a store soon. http://www.bajafresh.com/jump.jsp?itemID=0&itemType=HOME_PAGE

I haven't heard of them in years! one of my favorite places to eat as a kid growing up in Houston. It closed when I was about 8, I guess it couldn't compete with Long John Silver's. Eat a couple of fish fillets doused in malt vinegar for me!!;)

We don't even have a Long John Silver's in my town. I like Captain D's better anyway.

|
Eat n Park, Arby's, Tim Hortens, Tom Wahl's, Potato Patch
Yeah, I know fast food is bad for you, but it's fast! and cheap.
I avoid like the plague: McDonalds, Burger King, White Castle, KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Krispy Kreme, any donut place
They don't have these here but I want to try them: Sonic, In and Out, Hardees

4. I forgot to put Krispy Kreme and Hardee's on my avoid list. |
|
We don't have any Sonic's here either. No Church's Chicken (though I was tempted to go to one when I was in New Orleans).
I have to drive up to Winnipeg to eat at Tim Horton's. They had one in Minneapolis not too long ago, but they closed it down.

They have the best chicken sandwiches on Earth.
My favorite pizza is East of Chicago, which is a local chain in Ohio/Indiana.
Edit: I forgot about Tim Horton's. I started liking them when I was in Toronto a few years ago. I try to avoid them, because most of their food is too high in fat and calories, and it's hard to get enough. At least with pizza, I get a stomachache afterwards to teach me a lesson.
I avoid McDonalds and the like, because their food is just so...gross. Although Wendy's does have good salads.

McDonald's owns a share but the food is decent--Niman Ranch pork, for example. However, here in the country's fattest city, we've got too many other options to resort to fast food.
Well, Sonic or the occasional sub is OK. And, when visiting small-town Texas, one can't avoid Dairy Queen.
Taco Bell is dreadful, but I see you live in North Dakota. So I'll make allowances!

But I also like Pollo Tropical, which I believe can only be found in South Florida. It's rotisserie chicken with a Latin flavor.

Six different kinds, all good, but the Reuben is the best. It's really really good. You can get coleslaw too.

The original hard shell tacos. I try their other stuff once in a while, but the original tacos are the best. I occasionally go to A&W for a burger. Burgers are okay, rootbeer is great. Unfortunately, my local A&W just combined with Kentucky Fried Colonel.

I can't help it. Have you HAD one? They're sealed up already so it doesn't really matter what the hell is going on behind the drive-through window. That's what I tell myself and I'd appeciate it if you wouldn't tell me otherwise. Thank you.
