Yes. I sometimes lean too far over the railing from high places, and sometimes, for no apparent reason, I am tempted to lick something metal in the winter. I never HAVE actually licked something metal in the winter, so I don't know where that bizarre urge comes from.

Of course, I think everyone has had both happen to them. Usually, I laugh and apologize...and then promise to focus on swallowing more often.

Regarding the spit on someone topic: yes, and worse, a friend of mine was showing his art photographs to me, and I just breathed, didn't even say anything and a tiny glob, about the size of a lowercase "o" on a Pica typewriter, landed square in the center of one of his prints while he was showing it to me. We were both so mortified that we pretended it hadn't happened. He deftly lifted the photograph up to show me a new one and in the same motion, used his thumb to wipe it off the print.
