Painfully awful movies
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 05:21 PM by GRLMGC
There are movies that are so bad, they're hilarious. But most of the time, if a movie sucks, it causes you pain. What are some of the movies that have caused you to think, "I've just wasted two hours of my life".

Personally, there are so many, I can't even name one, haha.

Oh wait: One that sticks out in my mind is Corky Romano. I was like a freshman in hs or something like that and my friends dragged me. I had my head in my hands the whole time. And then one of my friends, who isn't really my friend because she's a backstabbing dumbass, kept repeating lines from the movie. It was an awful experience.

1. Beautiful Girls is the only movie I've walked out of in my life.
I know a lot of people like it, but UGH!

Woody Allen's Hollywood Ending is the only other movie I've wanted to walk out of, but I didn't because in the last third of the movie I kept thinking that the movie must have had only a couple minutes left because it really didn't seem to have much more to say.

3. 'striptease'
I think it was called -- with Demi Moore and Burt Reynolds. Couldn't get out of the theatre fast enought.

4. Out of Bounds
with Anthony Michael Hall.

"Anthony Michael Hall is Daryl Cage. Eighteen years on an Iowa farm never prepared him for a summer in L.A."

Yeah, well, 18 years in a small town in upstate NY didn't prepare me for how unbelievably bad a movie this was.

11. That's not a bad movie
A bad movie is a film that almost 20 years later you're still complaining about (repeatedly) to any and all who listen... sort of like Out of Bounds with Anthony Michael Hall. Now, that was a bad movie.

Don't worry... I'm done now. :-)

12. Independence Day and Gangs of New York
the first was comic book jingoism and execrable. The second? I tried to like it but couldn't. Stylised violence and utterly awful. Pity because I really admire Scorcese's work. Maybe I'm in the minority though regarding my dislike of the film.

32. I agree with you completely about "GONY"...
so at least we are a minority of two :) A sad decline of Scorsese's talent.

Fortunately, I have been able to avoid "Independence Day"

21. Meet the Parents -- incredibly boring.
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 06:07 PM by notmyprez
I only laughed once or twice, and those were scenes that I had already seen in the commercials. Robert DeNiro, Ben Stiller--such potential, but I find it totally not funny.

I am against the death penalty, except in the case of Ben Stiller.

25. Creeping Terror.
It's an old black-and-white film starring a monster made out of bedsheets with human feet clearly visible underneath. The monster is very slow, but somehow can outrun screeching blond women too terrified to simply step out of the way.
