19. Here is the recipe
one onion, coarsely chopped
one tomato, coarsely chopped
1 1/2 pork shoulder, cubed
one stick butter, unsalted
2 oz bean thread noodles
2-3 chili peppers

BTW- the Bhutanese name for the recipe is "Keshwa Fing"

Soak bean thread noodles in boiling water for 2 minutes, drain

In dutch oven, melt butter and add onions, tomatoes, and meat. Add about 1/2 cup water. Cook over low heat for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Then, add chopped chilies, and drained bean thread noodles. Cook about 8-10 minutes more.

It is very very tasty.

I serve it with Bhutanese Red Rice, which has a nice chewy texture. It is sold by Lotus foods.

Here is a link to their website- the Bhutanese Red Rice is the first one listed.

Enjoy!

Is Himalayan Red Rice a recipe, or a variety of rice?

3. Mmmmm ...
We'll probably have some leftover chili that I made last night. It's really spicy, so I like to put some crushed tortilla chips & shredded cheese on top. Good for a cold night. :9

4. I'm going to try my hand at making pesto tonight
Then I plan on adding it to penne pasta. I plan on tossing grilled chicken strips and red bell pepper stips to the mix.

10. This is really good ...
It's a Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto mix - kind of expensive, but well worth it.

13. O, snap
I just finished off my semi sun dried tomato marinated in garlic, oil, vinegar and italian seasonings from Whole foods. Attempting to duplicate it now, seven bucks a pound is way too much, but dammit, it's good. Use it on subs made with french baquette and prosciutto and baby swiss.

23. I bought fresh basils in a tube that they sell in the produce section
It's pretty good, but I've never used it to make pesto, but I imagine it will make it easier considering it's already grinded up. Then I'm going to use fresh parmesan, extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic and pine nuts. It's the first time I ever tried anything like this. Usually, I just buy the pesto already made.

29. pesto is easy and you can make it and store it
for future use. Throw it all in a blender, and you can also make a creamy pesto to use on penne or bow ties, just blend basil, EV olivie oil, pine nuts and some heavy cream. My parents are both chefs/former restaurant owners and I'm grateful to have grown up with gourmet food. The thing is, most of it is really easy, just always have the basics in stock.
Easy and tasty thing I made tonight: stuffed baby portabello mushrooms

Ingredients: mushrooms, italian seasoned breadcrumbs, EV olive oil, organic canola oil, garlic and water.

30. Looking for a good Brazilian Recipe
I ate at The Grill from Impenema in Adams Morgan a few weeks ago and had their mussels in green sauce, I cannot recall the authentic name, but man, it was out of control. Never had anything like it. I couldn't even begin to guess why it was green.

37. Tonight we had "Meatza Pie", fresh steamed green beans, salad, and
my husband and children also had garlic bread.

The recipe is from a woman who lived down the street from us my entire childhood. I found it in the cookbook my church back home in Minnesota put out in 1975.
