of violence that can only breed more violence. Don't you see - they are little kids and they are AT WAR? They don't even get to be children. Not only that, but I'll be some of those kids have actually used the weapons in their hands.

On edit: did you make a left turn when you should have made a right?

12. War photo's have always had an impact on how we view the
horror of war.

It is even more repulsive, knowing that these children will never have the opportunity to be...children. They will grow ith great hatred for anything other than those that will protect them within their culture, a culture we know little of.

I think the most horrid aspect of this, is that there was NO necessity for any of this to happen...Iraq was never a threat to us; but I'm willing to bet it is now.

This is the hell that bush unleashed upon the innocents. I'm sure he will NEVER see these pictures, and he had better hope he never realizes what burning flesh smells like.

I despise him more with each passing day.

14. I don't know...
I almost couldn't sleep last night after looking at those... held my daughter for a long time, cried a hell of a lot, and was greatful for my life. I don't know how anyone could live with themselves, knowing they were responsible for perpetuating that. Heck, I feel crappy knowing I didn't do more to stop it, and I'm not doing much now that makes a difference :(

to give him the authority to wage a pre-emptive war on a sovereign nation that posed no threat to the US. Many people have to answer for this carnage.

I definitely saw the make-up of that where you could type whatever you wanted and it would post it to that sign.

Now, if that's the actual photo, I hope that guy is sitting in a cell somewhere....

26. on further review - snopes says "undetermined"
http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/boudreaux.asp

LCpl. Boudreaux has told reporters that the sign in the picture originally read "Welcome Marines!" but was altered by someone else. He has not, however, (publicly) produced a version of the original photograph or identified who might have altered it. (If the photo was indeed manipulated, someone involved in the process had to be sufficiently acquainted with Boudreaux to be able to match his name and rank with his picture.)

Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 10:44 PM by Thor_MN
"War with what nation?" rips through my head.

I still feel that WE are not at war, that this "WAR" is a dog wagging invention of the right, usurping power to further the neo-con agendas.

One thing is certain, those kids are at war. They are fighting for their very lives and are learning lessons that will be costing us for generations. If any American can look at those pictures and not feel shame, they need to institutionalized to protect themselves and society.

The damage done to those young people of Iraq and surrounding areas will be felt by the generations-to-come here. I have one Repug friend who dotes over her grandsons (one is 5 and the other a newborn) and I wonder if she realizes that they may be involved in something like this in their future?!!
