The story so far: the Secretary of State (William Devane, a scarcely disguised Rumsfeld) is rescued by Jack Bauer. The Sec. of State's son is brought to him and tells him, "Dad, they tortured me!" Devane says, "Heads will roll son! But... why do they suspect you?!?"
So the Secretary of State (rumsfeld incarnate) orders his own son tortured. I was going OMG! OMG! As the credits were rolling his son had the torture helmet on going "aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!"

I said, he's not REALLY going to let them do that to him is he??? It was a good episode. I was so glad the kid hit the guy who was sent to kill him with the shovel. Can't wait until next week now!

8. i think 24 is clueless |
|
muslims can't shoot to save their lives, thus KS can mow down what, 20 or so, without a nick, him with a pistol, them with fully automatic rifles. He runs out of ammo but then just in the knick of time, the freaking calvary rescues them from the indians, er turks, er whatever.
So my guess is the the 24ers don't even get the equivalency between the dick head sec of defense ordering his son back into the torture session and the dick head turk ordering his son's execution.
Plus if you are going to kill somebody who knows that you are an assassin, you probably don't give the victim a shovel and then turn your back on him, right?
other than that the show made lots of sense. Why am I watching this crap again?

I love the show, but tonight's was a little farfetched.
Regarding the father/son angle, I do think they get the equivalency, and are showing that the craziness goes so far that neither side is immune from valuing their "cause" over their own family members.
I loved seeing Beruz nail that guy, and think that he will end up being a sympathetic character. I'm also interested to see how they resolve the situation with the mole (young, black lady; Curtis' ex), and also how they work President Palmer in.

13. That is typical of any action program. It isn't limited to "24". |

Again, this was discussed before. They had a season where the terrorists were Russian and also British. It's not always a conspiracy. :eyes:

???
Great episode and another gripping series despite the unfortunate and too convenient demonization of Arabs by the script writers.

made the American family the same as the Arab family. One father is willing to kill his son for the mission that he may or may not have been on board for. The other father is willing to do whatever has to be done to his son to get information that his son may or may not have.
Two sides of the same coin.

7. i thought there was a good parallel. |
|
As both both sons (white hat / black hat) were somewhat sold out by their fathers. Perhaps the plot could twist.
