lookin' for clues-a cut and paste how to for computer dummies? help

trying to learn to cut and paste on my emac zero luck any assistance, advice ,sage words out there? folks have been trying but i think i just can't get the sequence of button pushin' right. this mouse doesn't have a right/left function. how do get images from there to here? do you have to put them in folder first? what does it all mean?
