It was a very subdued, tasteful final show, filled with quiet emotion.
Without a doubt, one of the best final shows in the history of TV.

I was stopping in town after a biz trip to see some relatives, and we were looking at the show, lamenting late night was not going to be the same.
I rarely look at anything late night, except the Daily Show and then maybe Nightline.

watching it and feeling really sad that he was leaving. I was in a state of shock for awhile. Late night TV just isn't the same without him.

I as graduating high school that week and that was one of the last "family bonding moments" before I was off to college. We all loved Johnny. I still have the tape with all the shows from the last week somewhere.

I was around 9 and a half, and about to finish the 3rd grade. I think my parents forced me to watch it with them. I usually didn't stay up late, so it was kind of nice. I think Bette Midler sang with Johnny, if I'm not mistaken.
