He might be a megalomaniac bent on world domination, but then so is Bush. Hard to criticise this:

1. Wow
Thats aot of money. Its funny he donated more then three times more of his own money to help that cause then Bush sent in aid to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

I don't know much about Bill Gates other then he has a tendency to vote Democrat if I recall correctly. But that sum of money was extremely generous and I'm proud of him for donating it.

5. Sorry to burst your bubble. Bill Gates donated to Dubya and Dubya only:

And: Clinton's DOJ was prosecuting Microsoft. Bush's DOJ magically stopped doing so.

2. Gates gives away a shitload of money
He's given away billions of it just for helping with disease and vaccinations, etc.

And billions for other stuff.

Anyone who calls him stingy is an asshole.

3. Of course he has massive investments in pharmaceutical cos
so his contributions of vaccines and other drugs all work out nicely.

Not to mention the tax writeoffs he NEEDS!

4. Of course I won't criticise this. But don't expect me to

assume Microsoft's shenanigans in the IT field are somehow less worthy of criticism because of this.

Edit: Department of redundancy department.

8. Bill Gates has been giving huge amounts to philanthropic
causes for a long time. He and his wife have set up foundations to see that the money is used well too.

9. I don't understand peoples hate of Bill Gates.
He's always giving his money to philantropist causes, yet he's the devil incarnate. He routinely rapes babies before plotting his takeover of everyone's computers. The anti-MS contigency are a bunch of freaks. Go use Linux and leave the rest of us the hell alone.

10. I agree

I'm moving away from his products, but that is only because I think he has made bad (from my pov anyway) business descisions (ie: not protecting me, the consumer), not because I think he is a bad person.
