***SIMPSONS SPOLIER** The character who comes out of the closet is...
...Patty Bouvier!

She meets a lady golfer, and Homer becomes a minister so he can perform the first animated gay wedding.

3. That line was uttered in Season 4 (Treehouse of Horror)
the segment with the evil Krusty doll that tries to kill Homer.

No, I'm not a total Simpsons geek either. I just started watching the 4th Season DVD set a few weeks back and so that episode is still fresh in the memory bank.

4. not that there's anything wrong with that....
but this kind of shock value writing (death of maude, skinner a fake, barney dries out) is one of the many things wrong with the show. character development is one thing, but having a character come out as an event is just sad

7. Boo! Too obvious!
Especially after the writers hinted at her orientation in the past. I was expecting a swerve.

8. That's what I'm thinking too (post 7)
I expected someone like Ned Flanders, or Mr. Burns, which would really be a surprise.

I heard on the radio today that in a future episode this season, we will find out Comic Book Guy's real name.
