I need Grad School Application advice.
I'm applying to the Graduate Illustration Program at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. They require 3 letters of recommendation. The Mayor of my City wrote me a great letter about how I painted this huge mural downtown. She asked if she should put copies of the two newspapers that did pieces about it.

What do you think?

1. Why not?
If it is professionally done, it only adds credence to your application. Good luck!

2. I don't think it can hurt
Where is this mural, anyhow? I used to work on Main St in Middletown...so, I'd be curious to see it.

But, I think the mayor putting the articles in your letter is fine. It's her decision.

9. What else
have you done that has been note worthy and has gotten praise? It seems to me this is about 1 mural and I believe that it would be great to have a couple more. IMHO :)

11. That would be a very good recommendation
Think about it this way: the average student is going to have a letter written by college professors, or sometimes even high school teachers. Talk about a recommendation that would stand out in comparison!

12. My 3 letters are from - the Mayor, a person who hired me to copletely
brand his store and the senior designer in the marketing dept I've been working at for 3 years. I'm feeling reasonably good about that crop.

14. CSTT, it is not the mayor of Fogarea is it?
You know, Fog Area? Because if it is, I don't think that carries much weight. Just saying.

16. For an art school? I would
Though I would tell her to just clip the articles, not put in the entire newspapers. :)

17. It's quality not quantity that counts
The two letters will add more weight than having pages of fluff.
