My father was a cold warrior (USAF test pilot), so we lived all over Europe when I was a kid. I guess it got into my blood.

When I finally went looking for a real job (after 10 years in the theatre), I picked a company that would send me around the world. It's worked out pretty well, although some of the places they've sent me have been better than others.

It's also given me a perspective on American affairs that I think a lot of my countrymen miss by staying at home. And exposed me to both the adulation and the abhorrence that the idea "America" generates in other peoples.

So even though I'm freezing my butt off in Transylvania right now, I wouldn't have it any other way.
