It is this LOWEST common denominator that is bringing America back into some kind of dark age.

Actually, I'm in the middle of several LTTE's on the subject of Radical Right Hate Radio. I'm well aware of these buffoons' right to free speech, but when dissected, some of it could pass for hate crimes, etc.

My Dad listens to him. He doesn't ever say the name Rush but I know damn well who he's getting his talking points from and since I'm a DU regular and we keep close tabs on Rush........I'm can always stay a few steps ahead of my old man.

He and my Mom were over on Sunday and we watched the Eagles/Falcons game. I sat there in my McNabb jersey (I'm from Chicago, but McNabb grew up next town over from where we live and I'm a fan) and had to listen to my Dad talk about why "nobody ever criticizes him, you know, that McNabb. I wonder why?"......And I knew exactly what he was inferring and where he had gotten that bit of misinformation.

He even went to far as to make a bet against the Eagles, even though he has no idea who plays for the Falcons.

I never stir things up but I did get one good one in on him. He got up and left the room for a minute and when he came back I said, "You missed it!"

My Dad says, "What? Did the Falcons score?"

"No. But Collinsworth just said McNabb threw a bad pass."

It was. I mean, at some point, the facts and influences of the modern world just seem like they completely blow his mind.

He used to be a lot more opinionated, until it occured to him that he was wrong about 80% of the time. Now he just keeps the parameters of his discussions with me to include only small talk, and that's about it.
