Johnny Carson: "How ________ was it?"
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 04:17 PM by Richardo
A shameless ripoff of a post in GD that did not go anywhere...thanks to rsmith6621

What was YOUR favorite Johnny Carson "It was SO ______ ...." bit.

I saw this one at a taping of the Tonight Show I got to go to in the late 70s:

Carson: "You're a good group today. Yesterday's audience was MEAN."
Audience: "How.....mean....were they?"
Carson: They were so mean they applauded by slapping each other's faces."

I still crack up thinking of that one.

3. This is mine
Carson: "It was really hot out today."
Audience: "HOW HOT WAS IT?"
Carson: "Was worth the trip in to say that, wasn't it? It was so hot I saw a robin dipping his worm in Nestea."

"It was so hot that Burger King was saying, 'If you want it your way, cook it yourself.'"

4. It was so hot today.
How hot was it?

It was so hot that I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking.

(Lernt that one when I lived in Texas.)

5. To me, he was truly the King of late night. RIP, Johnny.
I like Letterman a lot, but Johnny was the master. I just loved that 'blank' look on his face as he delivered his jokes and comments.
