Now then, it is so interesting when you read those study results, then you take the time to find out WHO IS FUNDING ~90 percent of that research.

It is also interesting when you search and you find out that almost all of the "benefits" of alcohol have been found studying wines...and that grape juice has been found to have the same basic health benefits. So it isn't the alcohol at all. It's the grapes.

As far as your glass of Scotch, it contains tannins and creosote, as well as numerous other cancer-causing chemicals that result from the aging process.

Oh, and don't get my motivations wrong, I knock back 4-5 beers every freakin' night. It's just that I acknowledge what I'm doing to myself by doing that, rather than deluding myself.

Alcohol's effect on the liver is pronounced and occurs at very low dosages, particularly if the doses are consistently delivered. No way around that. Consumption of alcohol in any quantity on a consistent basis leads to an increase in incidence of esophageal cancer. Can't get around it. Alcohol consumption raises the blood pressure. It's a fact. Alcohol consumption on a regular basis in any quantity raises the risk of bladder cancer. Fact.

Me, I don't give a shit. But I don't delude myself, either.
