8. Another thing to consider

I've never tried any of the herbal products that are frequently sold to those who would probably buy weed if they could just find/afford it. I've had several friends who have, and all of them who've mentioned it have said that these products don't have much, if any, psychoactive effect.

What no one seems to talk about, though, is the lack of toxicological data on these plants. Cannabis has been widely studied, and anyone with a computer (or an academic library nearby) can get enough information to make an informed choice about whether they feel it is safe enough to consume.

These other plants/products are another story entirely.

What I can't understand is why the conversation is dominated by the question "if I consume this, will I get high," and ignores "if I consume this will I freaking DIE?".

Hardly seems worth it.

I remember a few years back my local cable company was trying to catch people getting cable illegally. I don't know how they did it, but somehow they were able to air a commercial for a free t-shirt that only went to illegal households. A good number of people called for the free shirts and busted themselves.
