Sirius radio...how do you get it? |
|
And how much is it?
And are there never any commercials or DJs?

1. I have a small unit that I plug into my TV and turn my |
|
TV on AUX to listen to the audio.
I pay $38.95 every three months. There are DJs but they don't talk much. There are commercials on the news stations but not on the music stations.

6. Well, it's streaming straight from CNN for example. |

. If CNN has commercials (and it does), then you will hear the same commercials.

3. Depends on what set up you get really. |
|
The cost is around $12.00 per month for the sirius service itself.
The sirius receiver itself is around $99.00 (but you can better deals on ebay for the receiver).
Lots of info is here: www.sirius.com

Since I got it 12 months ago, I've listened to my car radio exactly twice: once for traffic (which was on Sirius anyway) and today to listen to the Rice debate in the Senate (only because my receiver was in my family room, its portable). It is the very best period. Whatever you music style, they've got it. And, it is not owned even a little bit by Clear Channel.

7. Yes, I love it. I listen to it at work (bought a boombox for it) |
|
and listen to it in the car, and in the house.
1 portable unit and I can listen in all these places.

9. Did you get the AudioVox where you insert the portable tuner? |
|
I've got one and I can't find the "bass" control ("moran" that I am). Any advice.

10. My Sirius tuner plays through my existing FM radio |
|
in the car, so I just manipulate my regular car stereo controls.
(Not sure if I answered your question or not. You meant the auto outfit, right?)

11. Right! They have a Sirius-specific boom box but using the |
|
radio adapter is better. Thanks.

12. Do you sit near a window at work? |
|
I sit in a cube and not near a window. When I brought my sirius radio into work it did not pick up a signal. Another co-worker brought her XM radio in and it could not get a signal either.
