Right now, I'm at a computer at my campus library, and next to the computer I just got on is a book left behind by someone entitled "Unamerican Activities - The Campaign Against the Underground Press" by some dude named Geoffrey Rips. It includes such features as "Surveillance as Censorship", "The Underground Press and its Cave-in", "Sabotaging the Dissident Press", and "Fugitive Pages from the Alternative Media".
This looks like a book aimed against anti-war publications from the Vietnam days. There's a whole bunch of pics of pretty tame anti-war and anti-Nixon articles and cartoons from left-wing papers in the late-60's and early-70's, but then there's stuff next to it villifying each seemingly harmless one as if it's a mission statement of communism, or something. It's right next to me right now and I'm flipping through some of it, and it's pretty funny that they're having a hernia over some of these harmless cartoons and articles.
Should I wash my hands in bleach now that I've touched it??
