18. they are, though there are people who think they suck now |
|
it's mindboggling the reviews on amazon.com. there are those who can't stand that green day has actually developed into mature, dare i say, great musicians. Some are so pissed that they either left their punk roots, or have taken left-wing stands that they fail to see how good they've become.

19. Have you seen "Igby Goes Down"... |
|
it kinda reminds me of that, though "Garden State" isn't quite as good.
But still, I enjoyed it more than anything else I've seen recently.
OK, I'll shut up now... turn off the damn computer & watch the movie :P

it's one of the best CDs I've heard in a while. But then again, I liked some of the stuff on "Dookie." And I'm probably considered "old" by DU standards!

22. sure, i love their older stuff too |

but this CD just reaches whole new levels. I've always been a fan of the rock operas and this is by far one of the best i've ever heard.
If you like rock operas, i highly recomend "Streets" by Savatage. They're a heavy metal group, but some of their ballads on it will make you cry.

"Pool Hall Richard," great song. The Faces: this IS the sound of rock and roll. No other band defines the sound of rock as completely as them.

I started to listen to The Fairy Queen by Purcell, but then discovered that my planed empty office (due to day-off) was not empty due to an auditor working in here, so had to stop.
I'm in a bad mood now.

38. "The Magician's Birthday" by Uriah Heep |
|
Mid-seventies album from this British progressive-rock band. In a tie with the debut for my favorite album by them.
American Idiot is a good album, although I haven't listened to it enough yet to get into a whole lot. Despite not caring much for the single "American Idiot", I decided to get the album anyway because I've liked a lot of Green Day's past work and liked that they were taking an openly anti-Bush political stance. My favorite album by them is Nimrod; they attempt so many styles of music on that album and pull them off so well.
