Poll question: Would you pick Netflix or Blockbuster's mail-order video rentals... |
|
...even though Blockbuster is cheaper? I have a theory about this that I want to test out. Feel free to discuss why you made your decision.

2. Hmmmm...I was thinking it would be more... |
|
...that like everyone has been hit with a Blockbuster late fee at one time or another, and would want to hammer on them by picking Netflix instead!

...so now they're like "We're sorry! We're sorry! No more late fees anymore!"
Ha ha ha ha! TOO LATE! Who's on bottom, and who's on top now?!

7. well yeah that too and that special little clause that they |
|
gave saying there are no more late fees (which is bullshit) because you end up getting charged for the entire DVD if it's late. I can't remember who posted that but it wasn't too long ago that it was posted. Netflix/BB seems to be a hot topic around here.

And if you want to return it after that they'll give you your money back less a "handling fee" or something like that. Sounds like a late fee to me! It's like, how are people not going to get even more pissed when they find out that Blockbuster is messing around with them like that.
What's funny is that people will notice when they're getting fucked around as a consumer, but not as a citizen. Hmmmm.

on the turnaround, and seems to have a little larger selection. They've added some deal now where your whole household can make their own profile and rental queue. Dunno how many people will bother to use that, though.

13. Netflix, for several reasons |
|
1. Netflix is fast and has great variety 2. Netflix donated to the Dems 3. A few years ago, I was in a Blockbuster and I picked up "Schindler's List." I noticed it had some kind of notation after the title (I can't remember exactly what it said) and I asked the clerk. She said that they edited the movie because Blockbuster is a family establishment and some scenes were just too much. On "Schindler's List'? I don't think anyone renting that movie is looking for a feel-good comedy. Aside from how heinous I think it is to be editing movies (but of course the latest violent action movie I'm sure is not), the fact that I wouldn't have even known it was edited was even worse. That was enough to make me never want to go to Blockbuster again. 4. Blockbuster is super right-wing (as if that wasn't obvious by point #3).
