Poll question: WordPerfect or MSWord? |
|
The truly divisive controversy of our time! If you ask me, WORDPERFECT RULES!! (It's actually the only thing the office rightie wacko and I agree on.)

2. The rightie office wacko may change his tune if... |
|
he ever finds out that Corel is a <gasp> Canadian company. I won't tell if you won't tell. BTW, I voted for WP.

Canadian company? Excellent! I'll save that bit of info and spring that on him sometime, just to watch him cringe.

3. I got the latest Word Perfect with my new computer |
|
and I have to say, I really liked it. I'd be happy with that if the rest of the world wasn't on Word. The only problem I had with it is when I opened Word documents from work in it, I couldn't see the links, very important information if you're posting web pages.

4. I like Word, simply because it is on almost every computer in the world |
|
If Wordperfect were the standard, I'd be happy too. But I really hate when I can't work on a document because of compatibility issues so I use word for the same reason I used VHS.

10. I'm in a "Microsoft Only" environment.... |
|
But my days of heavy word processing left me with a partiality to WordPerfect.
A recent spate of writing documentation using MSWord only reinforced that partiality. It sucks, big time.

11. Ten years ago, I would have agreed with you. |
|
The old versions of WordPerfect ruled. But, after they were bought by Novell, then sold to Corel, and so on down the line, they seemed to get worse and worse. They also seemed to become more problematic when it came to stability.
I think that if they'd remained an independent company without going through so many corporate shake-ups, they would be the best today, but I feel like they dropped the ball in the mid-90's.

12. Do they still make Word Perfect? |
|
I'm stuck using Word at the office, but I much prefer Claris Works.
