I Just Saw the Movie "Silver City"
Edited on Wed Jan-26-05 01:56 PM by MarianJack
Like a lot of John Sayles movies (except "The Return of the Secaucus Seven"), it sort of ran out of gas about halfway through, but it is a good send-up of the BFEE. Very appropriately, the family in the movie is named "Pilager".

Richard Dreyfuss is just as I'd imagine kkkarl to be, and OH MY STARS AND GARTERS, Chris Cooper (one of my favorite actors) does ** to an absolute T! His performance makes the movie worth watching. He even has the moron's posture down!

In retrospect, perhaps my calling it a send-up isn't fair. Send-ups are usually funny. This is downright scary. I hope nobody associated with this movie gets on a small airplane anytime soon!

BTW, Here in Augusta Maine, our video stores are Movie Gallery and Hollywood video. Movie Gallery has only 1 copy. Hollywood Video has about 6. No Blockbusters around here and damn few independents that I've seen, so I can't speak for them.
