5. Beans and weenies! Yum. We're eating light tonight. |
|
My husband took the kids and me out for lunch today, and we went to a good old-fashioned retro-style diner. I had a burger with lettuce and tomato, and a cup of ham and black bean soup.
Tonight for supper, I'm making chicken salad sandwiches for my husband and teenager, and PBJ for the little kids. I'll have cereal or oatmeal.

in a long time. No longer care to eat that. If my chicken enchiladas defrost, that is what I will eat tonight, otherwise pizza.

17. Last time I ate hot dogs, it was Ballpark Franks and macaroni... |
|
...and I got listeria from the dogs. The package number (I had one dog left, and froze it) was in a recall. I felt like dying, and it lasted about 7 days or so. Man, your whole abdomen just goes rigid with constant pain. Ten people did indeed die of confirmed listeria that time.
Made it worse when I looked it up in the Merck's and found out that 1 in 4 affected can die during an outbreak. Many die and the cause is never discovered.
Uh, haven't had a hot dog of any kind since then! It has been years.
The ag department always likes to tag on to those recall stories that listeria attacks those with weakened immune systems and the elderly. Bullshit. I was a strong, healthy 36 year old when I got it.

19. Cajun chicken and rice for me |
|
Mmm.
I just spray the chicken with Pam, and generously sprinkle cajun seasoning on it, and bake it at 400 for about 1/2 hour. Then I chop it up and mix it up with some rice, which is also generously seasoned with the cajun stuff. It tastes good and it clears out my sinuses.
