pet peeve: people who walk in the middle of the lane in parking lots
i was leaving a shopping center today and i stopped to let people use the cross walks from the store to the parking lot and one woman proceeded to walk in the middle of the lane! She knew i was turning into the same lane as her, but that didn't stop her from walking in the middle of it with her cart and never looking back! luckily her car was close, but still!

1. And they always have the nerve to look offended....
That you're behind them, waiting for them to get the hell out of the road. I'm always amazed at the "excuse me, can't you see I'm walking here??" looks I get from these dolts.

2. You have a horn....use it
You don't have to blow her away, just a quick tap to get her attention.

3. I did that the other day
and got a "stupid fucking asshole" diatribe. Lets make a deal, you stay out of traffic and I'll stay off the sidewalk.

5. Exactly the point I was making.
Even when you do an extremely polite light "tap" on the horn, you get the dirty look. Clue phone for pedestrian--get the hell out of the middle of the road (even if the "road" is an aisle in a parking lot), and nobody will honk at you. It's so inconsiderate.

7. sorry
but the middle of the lane is the safest place to walk. It gives you more time to react if someone starts backing up a weapon of mass destruction without looking. Also, I used to park very far away from the store to avoid having to drive in the congested area in the front.
The walking thing would not be an issue if they had aisles in the front of the parked cars where people could walk, but our society hardly ever does anything for pedestrians.

12. That's fine, but when a car is coming, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY.
My peeve is with the people who know there's a car behind them, creeping along trying to get past, and they don't budge.

Move out of the way, let the car pass, then go back to the middle of the road if you so desire.

6. I had a teenage boy who was standing in the middle of the street
give me the finger when I honked for him to move. My window was already down, so I asked him if that was his special finger. He looked confused, so I explained. You know, the one you finger your sister with!

He moved out of the way when he saw me coming after that.

11. And those who walk in stores and stand right in the entrance, staring,
blocking everyone else who is trying to get through.

Those who see you wheeling your shopping cart down the aisle, while they are looking at items on the racks, and right before you get to them they take a step back and block your progress.

17. or they stand in the center of the aisle and block you from
proceeding on either side with your cart They never learn from the first time you say "excuse me" either. I have met up with them in other aisles and they are doing the same thing all over again.

15. Another one.
Get onto a 3 lane highway, move into the middle lane, put on cruise control and develop tunnel vision. Ever hear "keep right except to pass" fuckwad?

On a related peeve, the kids in my neighborhood won't get out of the way when they're playing in the street and you're trying to drive by.

19. Kids in my old neighborhood
would walk down the middle of the road and not move, even after tapping the horn at them. After the 3-4 time of this, I just put the car in neutral and gave it a lil gas. I never heard so many O shits or seen kids move so fast. I just rolled down my window said thanks for moving and went on my way. Needless to say I didnt have that problem again.

20. Hey, how about folks that will stop all parking lot traffic
Because they see someone approaching a car in a close spot. Then, when they start unloading cart/loading car in said spot, they put on the ole blinkeroony. Yup, I'm just gonna sit here until they're done. All you fuckwads that are backed up can just suck exhaust. I'm NOT, I repeat NOT gonna burn an extra calorie by walking the 10 extra feet I'd have to if I took one of the 3 wide open spaces just 2 car lengths away.

Sometimes, you just want to take the cart that the last lazy bastard left in the handicapped spot, shove said inconsiderate drone into same, and push it into traffic. It'd be like a failed game of "Frogger" eh?

25. Oh yeah and the people who leave their carts in the H/C spots
or better yet, the people who park in the H/C designated "walkways" *Oh gee, it's wide enough to be a parking spot, and it does not have a blue sign, so therefore I can park there*

I have a disability permit and this stuff just totally torques me off. I have been known to leave nasty notes on the windshields of people who do that shit!

21. It's the "I am the center of the universe" syndrome.
They do things like that to make it easy to pick out the republicans in a crowd.

22. Mine: low flow toilets that you have to flush 4 times!
Why not just have a toilet that uses twice the water and gets everything down in one flush?

23. One of my pet peeves too
You really hit on one of my pet peeves too. I have noticed that this sort of behavior seems to occur at Wal-Mart more than any other place which is one of the many reasons I don't shop at Beast of Bentonville.

24. Oh gawd yes--I HAAAATE this!
Soooo much!

I had a friend in college, he was so funny to me. When we encountered this he would roll down his window and yell, "Get yo' ass out the street!" It always worked.

Hahahahahhaha!
