Got my "Not Me!" bracelet yesterday and noticed that the return address on the envelope is not 2 miles from my new home in Irving! That's encouraging!

43. You should come hang out with us in the Texas forum...
On the "Latest" page, scroll down to "state and country forums, " and click there. You can add Texas to your forums, and that makes it easier to get back to later. But for now, just click here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=180

You can also get notices by joining Meetup.com, http://du.meetup.com, but PDittie always posts the meetup info in the Texas forum too.

Welcome !!!

:hi:

47. We meet up monthly. The last one was Saturday.
But sometimes we get together for other things too. The "official" meetups are monthly and scheduled through the du.meetup.com site. Any other time someone has an idea to attend a local or out of town event, we post about it there.

26. LOL, yep, we suck you in purdy quick, here'bouts.

What brings you to the resort area of Lake Lewisville*?

(officially named: Garza Little Elm Resevoir, but since we hate the French, we like to call it a lake, and besides, Lewisville flourished and Little Elm foundered, and to the victor go the spoils and the water)

28. I have kids and the schools in CA have gotten really bad and
my husbands been wanting to move here for awhile, because he could advance better with his company here. I always said no because all my family is in CA and I was still in school there.

I finished school so I lost that excuse, and I finally had it with the kids schools, and in CA the cost of living is so outrageous that we could not afford to move to a better area. So we moved here and I handpicked the schools I wanted for my kids, and my husband wanted to be close to a lake, so this is where we ended up.

I have to say I do like it here, and my kids are the happiest they've been in a long time. It is very republican in my suburb though.

It's also going to help that the minority population is increasing in vast numbers. As the white people flee to the outlaying counties.

One day, I want Texas back in the blue column!

for 2006. You're in Dallas county, right?

Think about it. :7

Ping me when you get here, I have a couple of friends who are paralegals and I've worked on a couple of judicial campaigns. Between us we can tell you most of the D law firms in town. Although the biggest one, Baron Budd, is environmental / litigation.

Probably that whole "experience" thing's not a bad idea. But two out of the three Democratic judicial candidates elected last time were women. :7 There will be a LOT of races on the slate in 06, and Dallas is definitely starting to elect Ds.
