Best Sporting Moment?
My whole life I have participated in sports. I played softball and volleyball all through high school and college and continue to play in city and beer leagues now. I went to the state high championships in the high hurdles in track. I have also practiced martial arts and Iaido (samarai sword) for over 20 years.

One moment stands out though. Playing against Texas A&M Kingsville, I hit a blooper over the first baseman's head. Because of my speed (I was the fastest girl on my team) I always took a big turn at first. I took a bigger turn than usual and when the fielder picked up the ball I faked going to second. She looked at me and said, "Go for it, Bitch!"

I turned back toward first, to a step and then twirled and took off to second. The fielder was in the process of tossing the ball back to the infield when I did this so she had to hold up and then tried to make a fast throw to second base. She muffed the throw and the ball sailed into left field. I easily made it home while the fielder was being taunted with cries of, "You TOLD her to go, BITCH!"

Every Time I Watch "The Play"
and see Cal beat John Elway's Stanford team (not to mention kicking that Stanford Bank guy's ass) AGAIN.

Sorry everyone, I know this is solipsistic. Forgive me.

3. The Play
I didn't see it in person. Both my brothers were in Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, but left a few minutes early, after Stanford scored their last TD with 20 seconds left. They only knew what happened because the crowd started screaming insanely. Then they saw it, as I did from Portland, on the national news.

5. My favorite sporting moment was in Game 6
of the 1991 World Series (actually it is two moments). Kirby Puckett's amazing catch in the top of the third inning and his game winning homerun in the bottom of the eleventh inning!

ELWAY.
PLAYOFFS.
CLEVELAND.
THE DRIVE.

Best last few seconds in sports history.

Close second...

Duke beats Kentucky on the last second half court toss and turnaround jumper.

I came out of my seat and almost had a heart attack.
