WEEI Sports Radio: I almost fell off my chair this morning |
|
for those of you not from New England, the Dennis & Callahan morning show is about as far right as you could get. Gerry Callahan was suspended for making racist remarks, and homophobia is an ongoing theme of their show.
Today I heard John Dennis say he agrees with Ted Kennedy, Bush has fucked up and we need to bring the troops home now. This from a paleo-fascist neanderthal!
I love sports and stopped listening to Sports Radio because I like my politics and sports separate. Not that I'll listen to them regularly now (I flipped to 850 AM because Air America was on a break).
Just thought I'd tell my sports-loving Mass DUers that it may (almost) be safe to tune into 'EEI in the morning...

I'm looking forward to a day when the GOP has to impeach or force resignation on one of their own.

2. Sports radio WSCR here in Chicago has inserted RW politics into |
|
the programming day too. That's probably the future of sports radio - to become part of the propaganda machine. Most of the sports crowd are uber-cons, and sneak in brief * commercials from time to time, but now it seems like it's becoming part of the script.
It's too bad, since during the 90's WSCR was really the only oasis in a seas of hate radio here in Chicago.

I know lots of people that are pissed at 'EEI because they get a daily dose of Rethuggery with their baseball news.
Let's see if we can get a call in sports show on Cambridge Coomunity Television!

I am not so much into the sports radio thing, but I may check out more than the sox coverage this season.

They still suck but it was kind of entertaining picturing Callahan's head about to explode.

13. Sorry I missed that part of the program today |
|
I usually listen to Morning Sedition and flip over to WEEI during commercials when I think it's "safe" to hear them actually talk about sports. As soon as I hear Callahan utter Michael Moore's name or anything else not sports related, I shut them off. He writes for the Boston Herald and because of his daily political pontifications I think he should move his column to the Op-Ed page to be with that other (ex-sports) columnist (and ultra right wing) Joe Fitzgerald.

I had to come out of lurkdom. Good to know I'm not the only one who loves Boston sports and hates him.
